Wheaton Drama Announces Auditions For A Few Good Men

Wheaton Drama, Inc. (WDI), located at 111 N. Hale Street in downtown
Wheaton, is proud to announce auditions for Aaron Sorkin's thrilling
military drama, A Few Good Men.
The show will be directed by Joan Morrissey with production management by Jenna Eisenberg and Ed Thomas. Dee Hicks is the assistant director.
Auditions will be held at Playhouse 111 at 6:30pm on Sunday, January 27, and at 7pm on Monday, January 28. Callbacks will be Tuesday, January 29. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. A Few Good Men examines questions of duty,
honor, justice and the rule of law as it plays out in a military
courtroom. Two young marines serving at Guantanamo are charged with
the murder of a weaker platoon buddy and are defended by a team
of naval lawyers suspicious of a “cover up”.
The roles are as follows:
Lance Cpl. Dawson Straight arrow marine
PFC. Downey Also a dedicated marine but less able to think for himself
Lt. J.G. Weinberg Kaffee's backup defense attorney
Lt. J.G. Kaffee Hotshot (Harvard Law) with attitude, takes pride in his ability to plea bargain
Lt. Comdr Joanne Galloway Special investigator willing to take on the system in “the interest of justice, sir”
Capt. Whitaker Supervising officer of the JAG corps
Capt. Markinson Jessup's second in command, willing to question his orders
Lt. Col. Jessup Hardcore commander of Guantanamo base, “golden boy” of the Corps on his way up
Lt. Kendrick Bible quoting, regulation quoting executive officer
Lt. Ross Prosecuting attorney and baseball pal of Kaffee
Capt. Randolph Dignified, no nonsense court martial judge
Comdr. Stone Base doctor
Additional Roles: PFC. Santiago (the victim), sentries, MP's, orderlies, platoon leaders, attorneys. Roles will require multiple casting and (at least a semblance of) physical fitness.
A
Few Good Men will be performed Thursdays through Sundays
from March 28 to April 20, 2008. Shows are at 8pm Thursdays through
Saturdays; 3pm on Sundays. Tickets are $16 each with the exception
of Thursdays, which have a special ticket price of $13.
